THIS COMMUNITY IS FALLING APART--LITERALLY!

Pastor Rob Baker (field administrator here at BHM), Larry Russ, and Rich went out Monday on an investigation expedition. A couple of Haitian pastors had reported a landslide in the mountains that was destroying homes and threatening families. What they found was more of a slump than a landslide--a portion of the mountain is slowly sliding away into the valley--but it has indeed caused a great deal of hardship. There are approximately 35 families in this little mountain community not far from here. The pictures tell the story.

This house was a victim of the shifting earth. We hear that folks were sleeping in these houses when they began to crack.
It gives new meaning to the words "a shaky foundation".
